

LaMonica Upchurch serves as a Mental Health Peer Specialist at Samaritan Center, where she empowers veterans and their families through compassionate support, connection, and advocacy.
A proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, LaMonica served 11 years on active duty, as a single parent and a dual active-duty spouse, completing two overseas deployments before ending her military career. Her unique service has given her a wealth of experience, knowledge, and resilience that allows her to connect deeply with others navigating similar paths.
Now a disabled veteran, she is an inspiring student entrepreneur with her sights set on joining the holistic recovery industry, focusing on functional recovery for neurodivergent individuals. Since ending her military career, she has served as a Peer Service Coordinator for Travis County with the Military Veteran Peer Network, a Logistics Contractor for the Department of the Navy and a Logistics Specialist with the Military Sealift Command.
LaMonica is passionate about bridging gaps in care, building community, and helping individuals rediscover and redefine purpose and balance during and after military life. In her free time, she enjoys fitness, travel, outdoor adventures, volunteering, and creating lasting memories with her family.
