Araceli Escamilla is a Licensed Professional Counselor and graduated from Texas State University with a Masters in Professional Counseling in 2016. Araceli has been trained in trauma informed evidence-based interventions, such as TF-CBT (Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and recently completed requirements to become a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). Araceli has worked as a therapist with children, adolescents, families, and adults since 2015. She uses a strengths-based, client-centered approach in therapy, working in collaboration with the client and support system to achieve healing and growth.
Prior to her role as a therapist, Araceli worked 5 years in the social services field, through employment at places such as Child Protective Services and Integral Care. Araceli has gained experience as a therapist in a variety of settings, including in community care, residential treatment, and equine-assisted psychotherapy. Araceli loves animals and works to integrate them in as much of her daily life as possible, so it is no surprise that she has a therapy dog (Mafi) that she hopes you will get to meet at some point!
