About This Group
This group is designed for former service members with substance abuse and trauma. “Trauma” means that a person has suffered a severe life event, such as physical or sexual abuse, a car accident, or a natural disaster. Many service members who abuse substances have experienced trauma during their lifetime. The group will consist of 10 therapy topics. Both trauma and substance abuse issues are worked on at the same time to promote the most successful recovery possible. Discussing your experiences with others can help you feel connected to those who share similar life challenges. This group aims to provide a safe place for camaraderie and healing. Individual counseling sessions are also available to schedule after group.
WHEN: Mondays, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.
