Josh Shaver, M.S., CTCM serves as the Military Programs Manager at Samaritan Center. Prior to this position, he worked for the State of Texas with the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Brain Injury Program. After serving 28 years in the United States Army as an Infantryman, Josh retired in Central Texas. Josh’s military service includes tours in Kosovo, Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan with 8 deployments. Since being diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury and several additional combat related conditions, Josh has committed himself to continue serving and providing resources to veterans and their families.
While transitioning from the military, Josh served with the Texas Legislative’s 87th Session as the Military Liaison for State Representative Dr. Brad Buckley after he was appointed the Vice Chairman of the Defense and Veterans Affairs Committee. Josh is currently a lifetime member and elected officer of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, a lifetime member of the American Legion, and a Military Veteran Peer Network trained volunteer. He holds a Master of Science from Kansas State and is a Certified Texas Contract Manager.
