I am both a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and I am a proud graduate of the University of Texas. I began my social work practice in Austin 24 years ago and after many years of private practice I joined the Samaritan Center for Counseling and Pastoral Care where I have been practicing for 7 years. I love the opportunity to serve the Austin community in a spiritually based counseling center. Historically, my career focused primarily on counseling individuals and couples and I recently expanded my practice to include counseling adolescents.
In my experience, there are few families not affected by mental health, chemical dependency issues or problems in relationships. My holistic approach to healing considers the entire person and family and I work to help them discover answers and resources to improve the quality of their life and family. I am comfortable working with issues including depression, anxiety, and abuse of all kinds as well as marital and family conflict. Sometimes, addictions cloud the ability of individuals to heal and I am prepared to help when needed and asked. I believe that everyone has healing potential and I see my job as facilitating that desire for wholeness into action and change.
