Gretchen Johnson Rees, LCSW, has worked in a variety of settings, including a residential treatment center for children and adolescents and an out-patient center for adults with chronic physical and mental disabilities. She currently works as an adult and child therapist with military and their family members at the Samaritan Center’s Hope for Heroes program. Gretchen has specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprogramming (EMDR),a treatment for trauma, PTSD and a variety of issues. She has also completed training with the Hakomi Institute, a mindfulness based psychotherapy. Gretchen currently serves on the board of the Hill Country Chapter of the Texas Association of Play Therapy. Gretchen specializes in issues of trauma, anxiety, depression, attachment, grief and loss, and adjustment.
